Netbride.com Review #1

This review may seem a little out-dated as I have now been married three years, but I recently was asked for help finding knock-off dresses by a friend and found your blog. I thought I’d contribute.

I ordered from netbride.com (formerly bridaldiscounters.com), mainly because they seemed to have what I wanted and were the only BBB accredited place I could find that did. I was still somewhat trepidatious. But for the quoted price of $450, I couldn’t help myself. Plus, I couldn’t have ordered this dress anywhere else because it had been recently discontinued.

The wedding was June 13^th, and I was told to order by January 15^th to get it in time. I don’t remember if they offered rush service, as I did not wish to pay extra for it anyway. I ordered a standard size, thinking that a lace-back style would give me some extra tightening (I’m pretty skinny) and that with heels, I shouldn’t have any extra length.

I ordered Bonny 661. These pics show the full dress. I chose the short-sleeve option.

This is the dress that arrived (two weeks later than expected, but still within an acceptable window). It was still a bit loose in the bust as you can see in the pic with my mom, but the detail was beautiful. I was comfortable and confident moving in it. I ended up wearing Chuck Taylors beneath the dress, so I did need to stop and adjust mid-aisle to avoid treading on my own hem, but that was my own no-heel choice that caused the problem.

Being a seamstress myself (almost made my own gown), I can say that they did a lovely job; the dress was well-built and of high-quality for the discounted price.

Inweddingdress Review #22

UPDATE: 11/27/2012

I got married in October. This is my dress on our wedding day after it had been altered to fit. I had ordered the size a little larger to be safe and it worked out great!

I have a review for you:

I ordered my dress from inweddingdress.com I live in SF Bay Area and the dress came in 38 days (my wedding is 8 months away so I did NOT get the rush order). I would go into the detail about anticipation, the deception of the packaging, etc but it seems like all the other reviewers do it justice so I'll spare the details...

I ordered custom sizes. I measured myself loosely though, figuring I'd rather have too much fabric than not enough. So the bust was slightly larger but that's on me. As for everything else size-wise it was perfect.

The flower "decals" were larger than I expected, and some of them were sewn on poorly, (my tailor will be fixing those as well for about $3 a flower) but I feel they are "wedding-worthy". I was extremely happy with the top of the dress too. It was neat and even and the heart-shaped top is exactly the way the picture looks.

I would have to agree with some posts that if your dress is simple, inweddingdress.com is a no brainer, I wasn't a huge fan of the pictures of brides that had ruffled dresses, but the embroidered stuff, and the patterns are not disappointing as long as you're not expecting TOO much for what you're paying. My dress was cheap, but for the price, the fabric is quality, the sizes were accurate, and I say it was a job well done!

I took some pictures, and copied the original photos for comparison... Sorry. I'm not the best photographer.

Inweddingdress Review #21

I love this place. I am in Australia, there are hundreds of clothing boutiques here that offer crap quality, horrible customer service, and ridiculously high prices. It makes me search online instead for my dream gown. Inweddingdress is different, delivering good value for the money along with great style and truly outstanding service.

They have a great selection of really good dresses, and they will recommend things by body type, which is very helpful( and also very correct -- you will find that if you buy something NOT for your body type on their site, it doesn't work. Its creepy how accurate it is). The dresses are well-made, comfortable, and simple. The shipping is fast and all my interactions with them have been good.

The alteration service is flexible. I wanted a simple dress and loved the style, but not a fan of the back flowers, they advised me to write "detachable flowers" using the custom alterations service. I found it unfair to charge me $10 extra of removing some details, but not a big deal.

This dress was supposed to be my reception dress, however, the design looks so great that I told my MOH that I would consider wearing that for my outdoor ceremony and I actually did.

Also, I think that when you try on the original it makes it very very difficult to appreciate the knock-off. I've heard from someone before, in your mind you already know the material you expect to feel, the way the dress should move, the way your hips should be and immediately you begin to identify errors. Do yourself a favor and if you want a "simple" knockoff... get it, and try not to worry too much. If your expectations aren't dangerously high, you won't be disappointed with the outcome.

Hello,

I noticed that there aren't many negative reviews which is what convinced me to order  from inweddingdress.com in the first place.

The dress I ordered is BC213, it was well put together and the colour I got was light ivory and was the perfect colour. I got this dress made to measure but I have had to get the dress taken in around my waist and hips as I have lost a bit of weight, it is necessary that you would need a dress maker to fix some unexpected work before the wedding.

The detailing on this dress is really good. The lace does NOT look tacky at all. The shape of the train hemline was not exactly identical to the picture, but it looks more brilliant especially the moment you turn around.

The only defective is the covered buttons, although they are so beautiful, one of them fell down when I opened the package, it might be the purpose that they sent an extra plastic bag of buttons and beads in the package. The beading weighs the sash down as the threads sewn to the sash are loose. Anyway, I fix the buttons and the sash threads myself. Just a piece of cake.

Whatever, the dress is beyond my expectations and more than what I paid. I would be happy to recommend this service to you all.

Dear Bridal Budget,

Recently, inweddingdress sent me the wedding dress I purchased; it turned out to be perfect and beautiful fit in me very well, really superb!!!

I was late in ordering leaving me no choice, only 13 days left before the wedding, but the guys at inweddingdress were fantastic, the online representative armitage helped me a lot, she offered me super rush order service and guaranteed the delivery in 10 days, I could even make some adjustments to make sure it arrived perfectly. I took the risk and was always anxious it wouldn't arrive in time!

For God's sake, I feel much relieved when the dress arrived, the prospect of looking for another dress on the high street or even online filled me with absolute dread as the moment I came across this dress I fell in love with both the design and the color, therefore I knew I would find nothing to match and would have ended with my mother's wedding dress.

By the way, they were flexible about changes, I wanted the dress look sexy at the back, so I asked to make the back lower to my waist and a smaller flower at the center neckline (I think the flower was too much big in the picture), the "specialists" were really professional and made the dress perfect and exactly as I have imagined.

I found this dress online and really liked the pictures. This dress wasn't available to try on so my wonderful consultant got me two different sizes to try for fit.

To be honest, the reviews for inweddingdress are so mixed, I was a bit nervous in ordering my dresses, but decided to take the risk assured of my wedding planners.

The dress arrived last Thursday. The shipping company was extremely kind and helpful. The dress arrived in a cute paisley bag within a clear plastic bag. I understand it was traveling hundreds of miles; of course it would be wrinkled! I have steamed the dress before the wedding anyway.

After trying on the dresses to fit, I decided to keep the size 8 and return the size 6. I understand the reasons for their return policy and it cost my hard-earned money to ship it back though, it is better than final sale.

Let’s talk about the dress now.

My dress fit beautifully and looked amazing. It is a little long, but that is w/out heels. The dress does look better on the website, though, the ones wearing them are models so U can't expect to look the same unless you are 5'6. My only complaint is that one of the pearls was coming loose; I have already asked my mom to fix it up, not a problem.

The fabric and color is gorgeous and just what I imagined. (I ordered the light ivory). The beading is beautiful and not a bit cheap looking. The lace does not look cheap at all.

I also ordered a detachable sash like the picture, but prefer not to use it, the strapless gown fits me amazingly. Adding the sash is easy and the dress even comes with lots of extra beads so it is really keen cared.

All around shopping for my dress was a pleasure! Its my advice tho; to have a good idea what you want before shopping because its way more fun!

Well anyone that is happy to hear the truth and can handle a no nonsense approach to buying their wedding gown. I don't have pics of me in it yet (will post after the wedding) but wanted to share the information i do have since the dress arrived. I hope this review helps someone wants to know about the site or specifics.

I was of course skeptical at first because this is such an important purchase for the biggest event in my life with Dave, however, this short amazing gown was really the one, the only one, it was not in stock anywhere and I had called nearly every wedding shop in the country. So I took the risk of ordering online from an overseas seller without trying on it first. Great risk, ha?

I received my dress in 7 days custom...........YES, 7 days!!  Our wedding date is 11/11/2011 and it is just September. I couldn't believe ordering it rush would only take 7 days.  I was expecting another two weeks at least. It does come in such a compact bag that you may not think its the dress but it is. The dress arrived wrinkled because of the packaging, but I can take care of it, not a big problem.

The back looks similar to the front, it’s a V with the same ruffles on the edges as in the front.  The tip of the V hits a little below at my bra line so it’s nice that you can wear a lower bra with it. The stitches were aligned right, the flower was closer to the picture, but not very exactly.

I never expect a $1,500 dress, nor an exact replica, even though the lace and flower is not exactly as the picture, I can get this body in shape and look 100 percent like I want to by November and keep trying it on in case I need to do something to it a couple weeks before and won't be stressed.

Before my purchase, I did some research on the company which revealed much negative information saying the white color was NOT WHITE. This worries me a lot, really. I ordered the dress in white and glad to say it IS white, maybe I am the lucky one??? I think so. LOL :）

The best part of the experience was how helpful of Jenny Foley, (by the way, they don’t provide telephone number, this really scared me before), she answered all my questions really soon, she is truthful and honest and gets to the point. Something that I found is very refreshing and endearing.

I was suggested having a dress custom to my body measurements by Jenny. After giving my order, they even noticed that my measurements were way off and gave me the chance to rectify. I would greatly appreciate the feedback about the measurements. It shows great attention to detail and care for their clients. I will say that when I tried on the dress by the first time, it was a bit bigger than the measurements that i gave... probably 0.5-1 inch. But i would much rather it be a little big than small.

The only thing I will have to have altered is the straps, it is a little bit long for my short torso. But all of those things were easy fixes, and I got more compliments on the dress! People were shocked that I ordered it online for the price that I did. I was very happy with my decision to get this dress.

I would, and will, totally recommend this website to every bride i know!  As a matter of fact, I already have!!
